Kryssi earned her 200 hour yoga teacher (CYT-200) certification and Social Emotional Learning Facilitator (SEL*F) certification through Breathe For Change in March 2023. She is also a registered teacher through Yoga Alliance (RYT-200). Through her yoga teacher training journey, she has experienced her own healing and the benefits of the 8 limbs of yoga. She embodies the phrase, “Yoga is for everybody in every body.” In her classes, you can expect to be offered a brave space to practice your yoga, your way, with an encouraging guide. Her classes are perfect for beginners, especially those that might think they aren’t “flexible enough” to practice yoga. Join a class and let Kryssi show you why you are.
In addition to teaching yoga, Kryssi is a special education teacher in St. Louis, MO. She has worked in education, specifically with students with disabilities, since 2014 and loves it! Since learning yoga tools to use in the classroom, Kryssi has developed a newfound passion for yoga in education. She ultimately desires to partner with schools and districts to bring yoga, mindfulness, and wellness to students, staff, and families in hopes of bringing awareness, understanding, and solutions to the mental health crisis in our communities. Kryssi strives to unite educational stakeholders in the process.
During classes, Kryssi offers invitational language with a reminder that yoga is a personal practice to which she is only a guide. Every pose, every movement, is an option. Kryssi offers variations and alternative poses throughout class and she encourages her students to listen to their bodies throughout their journey so that they may safely return home to their bodies. Kryssi is an advocate of props and strives to make the asanas as accessible as possible.
In her personal life, Kryssi is a wife to a coach/teacher and a mom of 3. She enjoys reading, listening to music, and all things fun. Board games, card games, and karaoke with family and friends is an ideal Friday night for her. She is known for her bright personality and loves to make everyone feel welcome. Kryssi hopes her students leave her classes with a positively memorable experience, a full heart, and a calm mind.
